REI Tech Unlocked: An Attendee’s Take on Real Estate’s Most Focused Tech Event

An enthusiastic attendee review of REI Tech Unlocked 2026 in Dallas: investor-focused technology, standout speakers, the Technology Playground, and an unforgettable VIP dinner.

THE SHORT ANSWER

REI Tech Unlocked stands out for bringing real estate investors and the technology they use into the same room. My strongest memories are the practical conversations in the Technology Playground and, especially, a VIP dinner that made the event feel unusually personal.

Some real estate events leave you thinking about the next event. REI Tech Unlocked left me thinking about my business—and looking forward to getting this group of people together again. The September 19–21, 2026 gathering at the Hyatt Regency Dallas delivered a combination I loved: a genuinely focused investor-technology program, access to the people building the tools, and networking that felt worth making time for.

The entire experience was excellent. The Technology Playground gave the event its practical energy, the main stage brought together leaders who understand the industry, and the VIP dinner was my personal favorite. For a real estate investor interested in technology, systems, and the people moving the industry forward, this was a particularly good room to be in.

A focused room changes the conversation

The organizers describe REI Tech Unlocked as “The ONLY Tech-Focused REI Event.” What made that positioning resonate with me was the specificity. This was not a broad real estate conference with a little technology added to the agenda. Real estate investor technology was the reason for the gathering.

That niche focus is a strength. Investors are not choosing software in the abstract: they are trying to reach sellers, qualify opportunities, manage acquisitions, coordinate transactions, and keep a growing team working together. An event built around that reality makes the technology conversation more relevant from the start. There is less explaining why your business works differently and more opportunity to consider what could help it work better.

Jordan, Steve, and Stephanie brought the right perspective

The main-stage lineup included Jordan Samuel Fleming, Chairman and Co-Founder of smrtPhone; Steve Trang, CEO of Objection Proof AI; and Stephanie Betters, CEO of Left Main REI. Bringing those perspectives together made sense for an audience thinking seriously about communication, AI, and the operating systems behind an investment business.

What I appreciated was the connection to the industry itself. These are people building technology for the kinds of businesses represented in the audience. The event’s emphasis on investor-specific tools gave the main stage a clear purpose rather than making technology feel like a separate topic from running a real estate company.

The Technology Playground made the format work

The Technology Playground was a highlight. A stage can introduce an idea; a space for conversation with the people behind the tools lets you consider what that idea might mean for your own operation. That combination made the event feel practical, not just inspirational.

The organizer’s format emphasizes comparing platforms, meeting founders and product experts, and bringing real workflow questions. That is exactly the kind of access that makes a niche technology event appealing. You can think beyond a feature list: Where would this fit? What would it connect to? What would my team need to change? The Playground gave those questions a natural place in the experience.

For me, that was the appeal of having investor technology at the center of the event. It was an opportunity to engage with the people building for this industry, not simply spend another afternoon opening software websites in different tabs.

The VIP dinner was my favorite networking experience

If I had to pick one personal highlight, it would be the VIP dinner. The caliber of the industry people who came was outstanding. It was the kind of company that makes you glad you chose to be part of the evening, and the conversation was every bit as good as the setting.

The food was great, the view from the rotating restaurant made the experience memorable, and the conversations were genuinely excellent. All three mattered. A wonderful setting is enjoyable on its own; pairing it with people you are excited to talk with is what makes a networking dinner stand out.

I loved having time for a different kind of interaction than a quick conversation between sessions. The dinner brought a more personal dimension to the event. The people, the food, the view, and the conversation came together beautifully. It is the part of the experience I would be especially excited to repeat.

Who might find it worthwhile?

I would put REI Tech Unlocked on the radar of real estate investors, investment-team leaders, and operators who want to make more thoughtful technology decisions. It is especially appealing if your business is growing and you are considering how your tools, people, and processes need to work together.

My advice would be to bring the questions you actually have about your business. Think about the bottlenecks, the connections between systems, and the work your team needs to make more consistent. A focused event gives you a useful setting for those questions, and the people you meet can make the experience even more valuable.

Already excited for Austin in June 2027

I am already looking forward to the next REI Tech Unlocked event, planned for June 2027 in Austin. Dallas set a high bar: a focused program, an engaging Technology Playground, and a VIP dinner that I am still happy to talk about. The prospect of getting that industry community together again is genuinely exciting.
